Job Description
The remote CTE Economics Teacher is a highly qualified, state‑certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. They monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system, work closely with students and parents/learning coaches, and sometimes travel across the state for school functions such as state testing or professional development.
This position is fully remote and requires a home office setup and the ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students and demonstrate belief in every student’s ability to succeed.
- Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain a grade book, make placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to concerns about student performance.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families, communicate regularly, and respond to students and learning coaches in a timely manner.
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic troubleshooting issues in the virtual classroom environment.
- Travel as required (approximately 20% of the time) for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and other school activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Clear required background check.
- Experience working with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in online (virtual) and/or brick‑and‑mortar environments.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
- Collaborative skills to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions.
- Receptiveness to receiving coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Rapid learning and adaptation to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Maintenance of teacher certification, professional development hours, and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
Salary range: $46,000 – $50,000 per year, with eligibility for a performance bonus. Base salary may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Benefits include health coverage, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
Work EnvironmentThis is a virtual position. The work environment is characterized by independent, remote instruction with periodic travel as required.
