Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is developing applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach courses throughout the 2025‑2026 academic year. Adjunct positions are part‑time/temporary, offering flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving educational goals. WWCC offers courses at all campuses—Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center—and online or remotely. Faculty members at WWCC are professional educators committed to providing students with access to relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities. General responsibilities include facilitating student learning through preparation and delivery of course materials, providing timely and meaningful feedback on assignments and exams, assigning final grades, and connecting students to campus resources and support services.
Essential Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place
- Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment
- Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter
- Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions
- Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback so students are aware of their performance throughout the quarter
- Assign and submit grades based on the results of evaluations and the college grading policy
- Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS
- Post and be available during office hours that are reasonable for student access
- Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum
- Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology
- Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment

- At least 5 years of working experience in the computing or information technology field as a software developer/programmer or network administrator
- AAS in software design with experience or ability to teach asp.net, JavaScript, C++, PHP, MySQL
- Demonstrated ability to teach computing and information technology concepts
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college; for remote work, applicants must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX
- Experience teaching at a community college
- Experience using instructional technology to support student learning, including instruction management systems (LMS), digital whiteboards, and Zoom
- Experience teaching or training in a variety of modalities: in‑person, hybrid, blended, and online
- Experience working with and relating to persons from varied cultural, ethnic, gender, age, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds
- Instructional approach centered on students and informed by culturally responsive teaching
- Strong interest and willingness, and preferably demonstrated skill, in using technology to deliver relevant information in a variety of modalities
- Ability to use varied instructional approaches within and between courses
- Ability to work with industry to improve student recruitment, review curriculum, and assist students in job placement
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and interdisciplinary work
