Responsibilities- Develop and deliver instruction in online special education within the Virtual High School model.
- Build relationships with families, students, and learning coaches to ensure student progress.
- Design IEPs, progress reports, and other state‑compliant documentation.
- Lead and facilitate collaborative special education meetings such as annual IEP meetings.
- Implement accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
- Collect data, analyze results, and prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed.
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Maintain a grade book, manage academic integrity, and make placement decisions.
- Travel up to 20% of the time for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, or as required by the school.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Active Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification.
- 0–1 year of related professional experience.
- Background check clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, 40+ hours per week.
- Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification.
- Must reside in Missouri (remote position). Candidates from surrounding states may be considered.
The teacher will work with Missouri Digital Academy (MODA), a Stride K12 partner school offering a high‑quality, personalized online education experience for high school students.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $52,000 (exempt, salary). Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Benefits package includes health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
Work EnvironmentVirtual, remote position. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday.
