Hiring Range: $68,100 - $69,000/yr.

This position offers a hybrid/remote schedule and will be working in the South Valley region.

About the JobThe Admissions Advisor is responsible for all aspects of recruiting prospective freshmen in an assigned territory—South Valley. The role involves developing a strategic approach, visiting high schools, attending college fairs and other recruitment events, following up with prospects, evaluating applications, and conducting yield events in the spring. Extensive travel is required.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and manage visits from educators, professionals, administrators, and other student‑affiliated professionals; schedule and give presentations, interviews, and follow‑up visits.
- Identify potential students and provide information about higher education and UC specifically; specialize in targeted recruitment of high achievers, majors, specific regions, unrepresented populations, and other groups.
- Provide in‑depth information on admissions requirements, prerequisite courses, school/college programs, specific financial aid criteria, and career opportunities in person, online, and via webinars.
- Evaluate transcripts and international records for eligibility; assess applicants for motivation, initiative, leadership potential, work/life experience, extracurricular activities, socioeconomic status, disability, and educational/personal hardship.
- Assist in coordinating and participating in on‑ and off‑campus student recruitment, yield events, and campaigns.
- Use enrollment management tools to research, develop strategies for recruitment yield; prepare reports and provide recommendations for new recruitment initiatives.
Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a directly related field.
- Valid California driver’s license.
Critical Knowledge and
Skills:
- Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population (Preferred).
- High level of organizational and self‑starting skills (Preferred).
- Comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at colleges/universities and specifically UC (Preferred).
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and writing (Preferred).
- Knowledge of recruitment and outreach tools such as Salesforce, Target
X, and College Board (Preferred). - Experience managing a travel schedule.
- Experience working independently.
- Experience being part of a team.
