At‑Risk Teacher – Stride, Inc. (Remote; West Virginia) Job Description
The remote At‑Risk Teacher works with the “At‑Risk” student population to provide remediation, supporting academic goals and increasing growth in these areas. We partner with students, parents, and teachers at the West Virginia Virtual Academy (WVVA) through personalized, data‑driven instruction.
Salary & Start DateSalary Range: $44,000 – $46,000, plus a performance‑bonus possibility and stipend eligibility.
Start Date:
Immediate.
This is a full‑time remote position (40+ hours per week). A professional home office is required and travel up to 20% of the time may be necessary for professional development and student testing.
Key Responsibilities- Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to state standards for each student’s needs.
- Collaborate with general‑education teachers to design individualized and small‑group instruction.
- Educate parents on instructional strategies.
- Implement the RTI instructional system and increase student achievement.
- Oversee data collection and progress monitoring at every tier; use data to plan instruction and advise teachers.
- Collect and maintain all RTI data (eligible students, intervention plans).
- Serve as a daily resource to school administrators, leadership teams, and other stakeholders regarding RTI issues.
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers, advisors, counselors, and district personnel to coordinate Tier 2 interventions.
- Provide ongoing training and support to staff on RTI implementation and data procedures.
- Assist teachers in documenting student progress.
- Work with the special‑education team to facilitate eligibility for special education.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Clearance of required background check.
Required Qualifications
- Collaborate with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
- Receptive to ongoing coaching with administrators and teacher trainers.
- Adapt to change and maintain excellent student outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
- Rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
- Experience working with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in technology use.
- Experience teaching in online (virtual) environments.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
