Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 6:00pm; some evenings and weekends may be required. This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position is based on the needs of the department.

Funding Information: This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.
Job SummaryThe Workforce Development Supervisor leads and oversees the Community Development Division's workforce and employer engagement initiatives to connect adult learners with career pathways, work-based learning, and employment opportunities. This position provides direct supervision to the Student Services Analyst for Career and Workforce Services and part-time Talent Network Coordinators (Career Services Support), ensuring alignment, consistency, and high-quality service delivery. The supervisor builds and maintains partnerships with employers, industry groups, and workforce system partners, representing the college at workforce board and regional collaboration meetings.
The role also ensures compliance with state and federal workforce requirements while managing limited budgets, purchases, and expense reconciliation.
40% - Supervises the Student Services Analyst and part-time Talent Network Coordinators, providing coaching, training, workload management, and regular performance support; ensures consistent and high-quality delivery of career services, employer engagement, job placement, and work-based learning activities across all staff; coordinates workflows, establishes service standards, and facilitates internal collaboration with college and career navigators, instructors, and student support teams; monitors compliance with programmatic, grant, and state/federal adult education workforce requirements.
30% - Develops, strengthens, and maintains partnerships with employers, workforce boards, industry associations, and community organizations to expand talent pipelines and employment pathways for adult learners; represents the college at workforce board meetings, regional convenings, and employer engagement events to advance program visibility and alignment with labor market needs; identifies industry trends, hiring needs, and work-based learning opportunities to inform program planning, workforce-aligned curriculum, and the development of employer engagement strategies.
20% - Oversees data collection, reporting, and analysis related to job placement, employer partnerships, student engagement, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) aligned performance indicators; manages pro-card purchases for student services teams, tracks expenses, and completes budget reconciliations; reviews program materials, procedures, and systems to ensure ongoing compliance; guides planning for system improvements and future workforce development needs.
10% - Provides support in the delivery of career services, workshops, employer events, and workforce readiness activities as needed; communicates program updates to internal and external partners and supports continuous improvement efforts across workforce development initiatives; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in business, public administration, education or related field and four years of professional experience in workforce development or related field, including two years of senior level or lead experience.
Or equivalent combination of degree and directly related full-time work experience sufficient to perform essential duties, unless otherwise subject to other requirements.
Special Requirements:
Must obtain the Arizona Department of Education Adult Education Certification within 30 days of hire.
A. Master’s degree
B. Over four years of experience working with business, industry, employers and/or the public workforce system regarding workforce and economic development
C. Three or more years of supervisory or team lead experience in workforce development, career services, employer engagement, or economic development settings
D. Three or more years of experience developing and managing employer partnerships and collaborating with workforce boards and partners to advance job placement and work-based learning
E. Experience analyzing labor market data to inform program design, employer outreach strategies, and workforce pipeline development
F. Experience managing program budgets and fulfilling reporting requirements, including tracking expenditures, reconciling budgets, and preparing federal, state, or grant-required performance reports.
