Job Summary

Working from our office in Duluth, Georgia, or from your home in Georgia, certified teachers will support and motivate students using the Pearson Online Classroom. Responsibilities include delivering synchronous instruction, providing intervention and enrichment, and using data to diagnose student learning needs.

Responsibilities
  • Represent a commitment to equitable practice, holding high expectations for all students and providing individualized support to meet those expectations.
  • Support the instructional program with asynchronous recorded lessons, synchronous instruction, individual communications, and intervention.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and consistent feedback, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and other teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, provide feedback, and coach special projects.
  • Develop a general knowledge of the K‑12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of the courses for which you are responsible.
  • Operate within the Response to Intervention/Multi‑Tiered System of Supports model, using data to provide Tier 1 differentiated instruction and working with a team to implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
  • Support students and parents with alternate lessons, assessments, and strategies, and provide additional assistance to meet individual learning goals.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families to provide direct instruction and intervention that meets the needs of the individual student.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff within a professional learning community to ensure all students progress through the program, and that tasks are distributed among staff.
  • Continuously monitor student data to make instructional decisions that have a direct impact on student learning.
  • Maintain student records and data, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance, and all student and parent contacts.
  • Coordinate with Advisory Teachers, School Counselor(s), and other staff to ensure appropriate communications and that students and families are making adequate progress.
  • Attend required school and district professional development, and seek professional growth within curriculum area(s).
  • Participate in State Testing organization and administration, student recruiting sessions, and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Highly qualified and certified to teach Secondary ELA in Georgia.
  • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and punctual.
  • Student‑ and family‑focused approach.
  • High degree of flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team‑player track record.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective working with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to travel for marketing and State Testing events (may require occasional overnight travel).
  • Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support families.
  • Remote work allowed, if necessary.
  • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two‑step authentication.
