WWCC seeks to create a standing pool of adjunct faculty to teach nursing assistant courses during the 2025‑2026 academic year. Positions are part‑time/temporary, offering flexible hours to support a diverse adult student population. WWCC draws from the pool on a continuous basis as scheduling needs arise. Qualified candidates may submit applications at any time. Candidates qualified to teach multiple disciplines are encouraged to apply to each applicable pool posting.

General Responsibilities: The instructor acts as teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning. Responsibilities include teaching classes (online and in‑class), preparing teaching material, assigning grades, maintaining records, consulting with students, and supervising clinical experiences.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan course instruction based on approved syllabi to meet content and objectives.
- Utilize Universal Design to accommodate diverse learning styles and technology for distance learning.
- Supervise clinical experience for students.
- Evaluate student performance routinely to ensure competency goals are met.
- Maintain student records related to learning activities.
- Report and document student progress to the Nursing Assistant Coordinator.
College Service (as Allowed By Contract):
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Act as a professional resource to potential students.
- Participate in professional or civic activities related to health care or certified nursing assistant education.
- Promote community awareness of the WWCC Certified Assisting Program.
Advising:
- Refer students to appropriate college and community resources.
- Meet with students by phone or in person when needed.
Professional Development:
- Participate in professional organizations.
- Maintain proficiency in teaching and clinical practice.
- Attend selected professional development activities.
- Use ongoing self‑review in evaluation.
- Ensure completion of required vocational instruction certification.
- Develop course content including demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and activities.
- Create and use accurate assessment standards.
- Build constructive collaborative relationships.
- Recognize the value of cultural, ethnic, gender, and other individual differences.
- Hold a current Washington state license as a registered or licensed practical nurse.
- Have at least one year of experience within the past three years caring for the elderly or chronically ill.
- Hold a current American Heart Association CPR card.
- Prior teaching experience desired.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. For remote work, applicants must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX.
Conditions/Terms of EmploymentThis part‑time instruction assignment is contingent on enrollment and is located at the Clarkston Campus. Hired personnel must provide lawful employment documentation within 3 days of employment and transcripts. WWCC participates in E‑Verify. A criminal history background check may be conducted. WWCC is a tobacco‑free institution. All employees are required to participate in direct deposit for salary payment.
CompensationCompensation is contingent on enrollment and follows the contract between WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. Refer to the adjunct salary schedule on the WWCC Human Resources Page (Appendix C).
