PT School Social Worker – Oregon Connections Academy
Working from home, the Part‑time School Social Worker will work a minimum of 20 hours per week providing virtual social/emotional services to K‑12 students enrolled in Connections Academy schools. Through webcams and web conferencing, and the company’s online Education Management System, the employee will conduct counseling sessions, evaluations, and social work support.
Preference for candidates who are currently licensed in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Washington.
Responsibilities- Counseling:
Offering individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, or social issues. - Assessment:
Evaluating students’ needs and developing personalized intervention plans. - Crisis Intervention:
Responding to and managing crises, such as bullying or family problems. - Family Support:
Working with families to address issues affecting the student’s school experience and connecting them with community resources. - Collaboration:
Working with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies for student success. - Advocacy:
Advocating for students’ needs within the school and community, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support. - Education:
Providing workshops and training for students, staff, and families on topics like mental health, substance abuse, and conflict resolution. - Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of interactions, progress, and interventions.
- Providing high quality counseling services to assigned students while supporting program implementation.
- Planning and implementing therapy in a virtual environment.
- Being an expert on assigned school and state specific policies and procedures for implementing Live Counseling.
- Maintaining a positive working relationship between the Live Services team, and the schools and programs served.
- Reviewing and analyzing a variety of reports to maintain compliance.
- Maintaining a high level of communication with the leadership team and school staff.
- Timely and thorough documentation of therapeutic interventions and progress reports.
- Regular touch base meetings with supervisor.
- Conducting screenings and formal and informal evaluation of all students’ supportive needs using documented best practices.
- Communicating regularly with parents/learning coaches of students with counseling needs as well as special education staff to ensure IEP goals are being met.
- Consulting with teachers and coordinating the implementation of specially designed instruction for students with supportive needs and potential learning issues.
- Assisting, as needed, with the organization and proper implementation of all paperwork, documentation and procedures for the IEP process for select students.
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date data in the company’s Education Management System and special education software.
- Adhering to all laws and company policies regarding data protection and security.
- Obtaining and maintaining all required licenses and clearances as assigned.
- Completing all required professional development, training, and courses required for CEUs to maintain credentials and meet company compliance standards.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
- MS in Social Work (LCSW or LMSW and DOE School Social Worker License).
- Ability to obtain and maintain multiple required state certifications and clearances as assigned.
- 2+ years’ experience in a K‑12 school setting.
- Strong technology skills.
- High degree of flexibility and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
