Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is inviting applications for part‑time adjunct faculty for the 2025‑2026 academic year. Positions are available at the Walla Walla campus, other campus sites, and online.

The instructor will act as teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning. Responsibilities include teaching classes online and/or in classroom settings, preparing teaching material, assigning grades, maintaining records, and consulting with students. Instruction covers classroom, lab and clinical contexts.
- Plan course instruction based on approved Master Course Outlines/Syllabi to ensure course content and objectives are met.
- Utilize Universal Design to accommodate a diverse student population, including new technologies enabling distance learning.
- Supervise clinical experience for students.
- Evaluate students' performance on a systematic basis, ensuring competency‑based goals are met.
- Prepare and maintain student records related to learning activities.
- Report and document findings of student progress or lack of performance to students and the Nursing Assistant Coordinator.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Serve as a professional resource to potential college students.
- Participate in professional and/or civic activities contributing to health care or certified nursing assistant education.
- Promote community awareness of Walla Walla Community College Certified Assisting Program.
- Refer students to appropriate college and community resources.
- Meet with students by phone or in person outside of class as needed.
- Participate in professional organizations.
- Maintain proficiency in teaching and clinical practice.
- Attend selected professional development activities.
- Utilize ongoing self‑review in the evaluation process.
- Ensure completion of required vocational instruction certification.
- Ability to develop coursework that includes demonstrations, lectures, group discussions, activities, and individual assignments, selecting methods best suited to students' needs.
- Ability to develop accurate standards to measure learning and administer evaluations to determine effectiveness and ensure high comprehension.
- Ability to build constructive working relationships characterized by acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
- Ability to recognize the value of cultural, ethnic, gender, and other individual differences.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. For remote work, applicants must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX.
- Hold a current Washington state license to practice as a registered or licensed practical nurse.
- A minimum of one-year experience within the past three years caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age.
- Current American Heart Association CPR Card required.
- Prior teaching experience desired.
This part‑time instruction assignment is contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus. Hired persons must provide lawful employment documentation within three (3) days of employment and transcripts. WWCC participates in E‑Verify and may conduct a criminal history background check. WWCC is a tobacco‑free institution. All employees must use direct deposit for salary.
CompensationCompensation for adjunct faculty is contingent on enrollment and paid in accordance with the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. See the adjunct salary schedule in Appendix C of the WWCC Human Resources Page.
