Work Arrangement: Initially, this role requires the individual to work on site in Newcastle upon Tyne until they have gained confidence in managing the responsibilities, typically by the end of the probation period. After successfully completing the probation period, hybrid working options will be available with a minimum of 3 days working in the office.

As part of the Amano Technologies Head Office Support Team, you will play a key role in supporting Amano consultants who work directly with disabled students and learners across a range of educational settings. This role focuses on providing professional guidance, supervision, and operational support to consultants, ensuring that students receive effective, compliant, and high-quality assistance in line with Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and other funded learning support frameworks.
You will also contribute to the development of Amano’s systems, procedures, and professional standards.
To meet the increasing demand for our high-quality support, we are looking for a Student Support Co‑ordinator to join our vibrant and friendly team successful candidate will act as a central point of support for Amano consultants, students, and external stakeholders, helping to ensure smooth service delivery and positive outcomes for learners.
Joining a team of seven the successful applicant will be someone who enjoys working with people, as well as having a genuine passion for making a difference in education.
- Provide effective advice, guidance, and supervision to Amano consultants supporting disabled students and learners.
- Deliver support through face‑to‑face, telephone, and remote methods as appropriate.
- Ensure consultants are working in line with Amano standards, quality frameworks, and audit requirements.
- Guide consultants in assessing student needs and developing appropriate Individual Support Plans.
Student & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate professionally and promptly with DSA stakeholders, including assessors and education institution student support services.
- Engage effectively with students, learners, and occasionally family members to support academic progress and success.
- Monitor student engagement with support and follow up where necessary.
- Appropriately assess when referrals or signposting to other services are required.
Administration & Quality Assurance
- Provide clear guidance to consultants on how DSA and other learning support funding operates.
- Ensure accurate and timely administration and record-keeping in line with Amano policies and procedures.
- Complete Amano administration tasks promptly and accurately.
- Maintain complete and up‑to‑date personnel records.
Safeguarding & Professional Standards
- Follow Amano safeguarding, health and safety, lone working, and professional and personal boundaries policies at all times.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the head office support team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of Amano’s innovative systems and procedures.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner, and capability in general IT. They will also demonstrate a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a structured manner.
