About the Team
Constellation Schools is seeking a highly-qualified Interim Principal in Cleveland, Ohio for the period January – June 2026.
The Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the campus, responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving the school’s academic vision, student advancement, and daily operations.
ResponsibilitiesThe Principal shall be responsible for:
Instructional Leadership- Leading strategic instructional design and practice, including implementing an integrated curriculum, directing instructional coaching and evaluation, and using assessment data to guide instruction.
- Developing, implementing, and leading instructional programs, assessing curriculum, pedagogy, lesson plans, and observing classes on a frequent and structured basis to encourage varied instructional strategies.
- Delivering consistently high levels of achievement and learning across all students through rigorous and engaging programs and classroom instruction.
- Meeting all student achievement and school culture goals, including Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals.
- Facilitating the implementation of a standards-based curriculum, reviewing lesson plans weekly, conducting frequent walk-throughs/teacher debriefs.
- Assuming responsibility for student achievement as related to academics and social-emotional well‑being.
- Serving as the instructional leader in the building by fostering a growth‑focused professional environment.
- Developing and/or modifying the school’s cultural programming and PBIS process with emphasis on appropriate conduct and behavior.
- Coordinating teacher-based teams, staff in‑service days, data days, etc.
- Implementing consistent professional development aligned with current research‑based methodologies.
- Implementing behavior management practices that promote respectful behavior and motivate students through strong relationships and positive reinforcement.
- Facilitating and directing the Charter School’s Special Education program to ensure high achievement for participants.
- Coordinating summer educational opportunities and before/after school programs.
- Building a strong school community culture with positive, cooperative relationships among faculty, staff, parents, students, and stakeholders.
- Providing skillful and collaborative leadership, including supervision, coaching, and performance management oversight.
- Leading the teacher evaluation program, ensuring teachers meet professional goals while executing ACCEL Schools’ instructional best practices.
- Evaluating teachers per the State Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES).
- Overseeing the professional development program to foster a collaborative community, regular training opportunities, and a meaningful summer experience.
- Creating a holistic student support system addressing academic and behavioral needs.
- Managing daily operations, including facilities, instructional technology, food services, student data systems, assessment tools, office management, budgeting, and recruitment.
- Engaging with the Home Office/Operations Team on compliance, procurement, student data, safety, and campus administration.
- Partnering with Human Resources to execute an effective talent management system for recruiting, hiring, retaining, and supporting staff.
- Ensuring non‑discrimination in the selection process by adhering to EEO requirements.
- Collaborating on state, charter, and federal regulatory reporting, including the charter renewal process.
- Overseeing school census, attendance, and reporting requirements.
- Implementing the national lunch program, transportation, audits, student application processes.
- Completing accountability reports and overseeing student enrollment reports.
- Maintaining recruitment targets (85% retention annually).
- Addressing compliance items related to the Sponsor Agreement.
- Maintaining the school calendar and ensuring marketing and communication tools are current.
- Engaging in regular communications and meetings with the Regional Vice President.
- Ensuring the safety and well‑being of all students and colleagues.
- Assisting with updates to manuals, policies, and handbooks.
