Summer Camp Director
Job Title:
Summer Camp Director, Quin-Mo-Lac
Location: Hybrid – remote work & on-site (Tweed, Ontario)
Employment Type: 9-month contract (January 1 – September 30)
Compensation: $4,000-$5,000/month commensurate with experience and qualifications for full-time, on-site work (May – August) and prorated for part-time, remote work (January – April and September) plus benefits, UCC pension, and cellphone allowance.
As the Summer Camp Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of our campers and staff. You will train and lead a dynamic team as they prepare and deliver a spring outdoor education program for school groups, and a summer camp program for over 1000 campers. You will ensure that our campers have a safe, enriching, and fun-filled experience that they will remember for a lifetime.
Your responsibilities will encompass staff supervision, program delivery, safety compliance, and collaboration with our Executive Director to enhance our camp’s offerings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Supervision & Operations: Plan and implement training of seasonal staff. Mentor and evaluate the staff team and ensure ongoing opportunities for personal growth. Foster strong team dynamic and uplifting working environment in order to promote staff wellbeing, morale and retention.Safety & Compliance: Maintain rigorous documentation of operations and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Prepare site for season opening & inspections and keep all manuals & correspondence up to date. Work in collaboration with the Property Manager and Kitchen Supervisor to ensure site safety and compliance to food service standards are met.Summer Programming & Delivery: Plan engaging outdoor education & summer camp program and oversee the staff in the delivery of a safe and creative program. Communicate effectively with staff & parents regarding camper needs. Coordinate special events.Procurement & Transportation: Ensuring that all necessary program supplies are materials are on hand for the season. Available to make necessary supply trips and medical runs as needed.Collaboration with Management: Engage in daily debriefs with the Executive Director. Assist with staff selection and off season administrative tasks. Assist in promoting camp programs, job postings and fundraising within the community.What We Are Looking For:
