Catalyst Kids Coordinator

Catalyst Church is a contemporary, missional, gospel-centered church strategically located next to Christopher Newport University. We are a growing church that has and is attracting many young families with children. In light of that, we want to better partner with parents as they disciple their children by hiring a part-time Catalyst Kids Coordinator. This is a 10 hour per week job that does allow for flexible remote work during the week along with in-person hours on Sunday mornings.

This position would require being or becoming a covenant member of Catalyst Church.

Responsibilities

1) Schedule (at least one month out) and manage volunteers for Catalyst Kids using Planning Center Online

2) Manage set up and tear down of the Kids Hall for Catalyst Kids gatherings

3) Ensure Catalyst Kids is prepared for all gatherings

A) Maintain inventory and order supplies in a timely fashion

B) Maintain accurate classroom rosters using Planning Center Online

4) Troubleshoot issues that arise during Catalyst Kids gatherings

5) Train and Equip volunteers to safely care for the children

6) Train and Equip volunteers in proper classroom management and to fully utilize the classroom curriculum that is provided by the Lead Pastor

7) Communicate regularly with parents about curriculum, events, and ministry updates

8) Be present for all Catalyst Kids gatherings

9) Recruit, onboard, and train new volunteers

10) Recruit, onboard, train, and schedule childcare workers for community groups and special events

11) Work with the staff to organize seasonal events (e.g., Christmas Eve, a summer event, etc.)

Strengths and Skillsets

1) Strong interpersonal communication and management skills

4) Proactive, organized worker who arrives early and finishes tasks ahead of time

6) Proficient in the following computer software/applications:
Google Workspace, Planning Center Online, Zoom
