Support international students and ensure our UKVI sponsor compliance! Are you highly organised, confident working with regulations and passionate about supporting international students? We’re looking for a Visa Compliance Officer to join our Academic Registry team on a fixed-term basis, starting in February 2026 to cover maternity leave. In this role, you’ll help ensure the University meets all UKVI student visa sponsor requirements.
You’ll assess eligibility for visa sponsorship, support students with key immigration processes and maintain accurate, compliant records. This is a hybrid role, working from our London Moorgate campus and home.
As our Visa Compliance Officer, you will:
- Assess eligibility for student visa sponsorship in line with UKVI guidance.
- Check documentation (including financial evidence) before CAS issuance.
- Conduct interviews with high-risk applicants and maintain accurate records.
- Advise Admissions, International Recruitment and Student Services on visa eligibility.
- Support visa extensions and assess returning/intermittent students.
- Monitor attendance for sponsored students and maintain up-to-date records.
- Contact students at risk of breaching visa conditions and update student records.
- Complete UKVI reporting via the Sponsor Management System (SMS).
Is this you?
- Degree-level education or equivalent.
- Experience of student route compliance in an education setting.
- Confident using the Home Office SMS and managing large sets of data.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- A proactive team player with strong cultural awareness and the ability to follow complex regulations.
