Ultimate Medical Academy is a non-profit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content‑rich, interactive online programs as well as hands‑on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.

Purpose of the Position

The Instructor empowers students by delivering engaging and effective instruction and instructional support. The role will collaborate with program leaders and other departments to enhance student success, foster retention, support certification, celebrate graduation milestones, and facilitate successful career placements. The position promotes the overall well‑being and integrity of our educational programs and students.

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver Centralized Curriculum
    • Adjunct Instructors: up to three classes, less than 30 hours per week, two synchronous office hours per week.
    • Full‑time Instructors: four or more classes, 30 or more hours per week, five synchronous office hours per week.
  • Engage Students
    :
    Facilitate discussion forums, host weekly office hours, and complete weekly outreach to students.
  • Monitor Student Progress
    :
    Grade course activities and post grades weekly; proactively track performance and provide timely academic feedback.
  • Support Student Success
    :
    Create learning support tools tailored to student needs and provide constructive, timely feedback.
  • Maintain Professionalism
    :
    Adhere to policies, maintain an up‑to‑date faculty file, and communicate effectively with program leadership and students.
  • Subject Matter Expert
    :
    For full‑time Instructors, serve as a subject‑matter expert on curriculum projects and mentor new instructors as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the CHEA.
  • Equivalent of 15 semester credit hours in the subject field taught.
  • Academic preparation in the specific courses taught.
  • 3+ years of occupational experience.
  • An industry certification/licensure consistent with employment in the healthcare field of instruction (certifications must remain active and be maintained as required).
Preferred Requirements
  • Any advanced degree in education, healthcare‑related field, communication, nursing, or general studies.
  • Experience applying adult learning principles and practices to online teaching.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems, student information systems, synchronous instructional tools, and the ability to tie curriculum to career outcomes.
Compliance
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and follow all applicable state laws, federal and state compliance requirements, and internal policies.
  • Communicate compliance requirements to staff and promptly raise concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • This is a remote position.
  • Home office set up with quiet place to work, camera availability, and high‑speed wired internet.
  • May require setup of computer equipment; accommodations available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
