Director of Academic Excellence, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $400,000/year USD

2 Hour Learning is looking for an experienced academic leader who has shaped a powerful vision in the past and taken full ownership of the results. You have led visibly, not from the sidelines, and you have created tangible results in learning science, delivered measurable outcomes, and earned a reputation to present publicly.

Base Pay Range

$200.00/hr – $200.00/hr

What You Will Be Doing
  • Design academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum design, motivation architecture, and application development.
  • Conduct academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and outcome-focused.
  • Integrate data, interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem reviews that identify the most impactful obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
  • Ensure strategic alignment through structured planning, continuous feedback cycles, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on learning objectives.
  • Serve as the public face of 2 Hour Learning at senior levels, including keynote presentations and meetings with Ministries of Education, to advance a new paradigm for education globally.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Working on isolated curriculum initiatives that fail to create systemic impact.
  • Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
  • Transferring performance accountability to middle management or external consultants.
  • Depending on reputation or academic theory to win over critical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Scale and refine 2 Hour Learning’s validated academic model by coordinating execution across school sites, raising leadership standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement built on rigorous science and proven outcomes.

Basic Requirements
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • 7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes.
  • Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning.
  • Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising.
  • Strong performance‑management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar.
  • Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders.
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
  • Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high‑performing EdTech venture.
  • Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts.
  • Deep familiarity with Bloom’s 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks.

Working

With Us

Full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The role is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $200 USD per hour, which equates to $400 000 USD per year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is weekly.
