Virtual ELL Coordinator
English Language Learner (ELL) Coordinator
Full‑time, 11‑month position supporting Ohio ACCEL Online Schools. The ELL Coordinator supervises staff and coordinates the overall needs of the ELL program, including identification, testing, and instruction.
Although an online school position, this role requires travel and face‑to‑face attendance several times per year for state testing and student events.
Responsibilities- Directly supervise ELL teachers and serve as the first point of contact for all ELL staff.
- Collaborate with ELL teachers to develop and implement schedules.
- Work with school leadership to analyze and improve the ELL process continuously.
- Coordinate with the Testing Coordinator to plan and execute language proficiency screening and testing.
- Ensure compliance with state ELL requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete records for all participants in the ELL program.
- Track and report all data related to ELL, including state reporting requirements and effective record‑keeping procedures.
- Identify department needs, such as staffing, curriculum, or supplemental resources.
- Handle escalations from parents and staff via phone, email, or text.
- Provide targeted professional development sessions for staff related to ELL.
- Support in‑person state testing and other school‑related events.
- Serve primarily as a remote position (work from home), with required in‑person meetings throughout the year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- ENL certification/endorsement or willingness to obtain certification.
- Current valid Indiana teaching license.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a successful teacher.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
- Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks.
- Strong data collection and analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
- Experience coaching teachers to improve instructional practices is preferred.

BenefitsCompensation: 55,000 – 65,000 per year. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
