Adjunct Legal Assistant (Paralegal) Instructor (Online Assignment Possibilities)
Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty. Antelope Valley College invites applications for our applicant pool for Legal Assistant (Paralegal) discipline.
ResponsibilitiesREPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Instruct students in the assigned discipline. Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, and/or off‑campus sites.
Minimum Qualifications (Applicant Must Meet One Of The Following Requirements):
- Any bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience.
Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree. - Academic Senate's approved equivalency:
No equivalency per faculty division. - Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (tit. 5 53024.1).
Desirable
Qualifications:
- Experience and willingness to teach online classes.
- Experience and/or willingness to teach dual enrollment courses at a high school site.
- Experience in the legal field.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Completed application.
- Current résumé.
- Letter of intent addressing minimum and desirable qualifications.
- Scanned copy of official transcripts with required degree(s). Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a U.S. review service at the time of application and must identify graduate‑level coursework. Evaluations by NACES are acceptable.
- Two (2) current letters of professional reference signed and dated within the last year.
Additional information:
Each recruitment is conducted independently. Applicants may be required to pass a written/technical exam. Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary. Travel expenses for pre‑employment interviews will not be authorized.
