Adjunct/Part-Time Instructor – Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN)

The Adjunct/Part‑Time Instructor assumes responsibility for performance of all functions generally identified by the college as within the realms of the instructor.

• Participates in planning, implementing and evaluating the teaching‑learning process in the classroom, laboratory or clinical setting.
• Maintains accurate and complete course records as required by KC.
• Keeps abreast of current trends in education and nursing practice to improve instructional ability.
• Maintains public relations with assigned clinical agencies and assesses the adequacy of available clinical learning experiences.
• Works with theory instructors in planning and carrying out evaluation of nursing techniques.
• Refers students to appropriate references when indicated.
• Performs other duties as requested by the Program Director.

• Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
• Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject area of teaching responsibility.
• Hold a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing.
• A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.

• Will work within the philosophical framework of Kilgore College and the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
• Works effectively within a group or independently.
• Is student‑oriented and able to meet deadlines.
• Establishes and maintains professional relationships with peers, colleagues and students.
• Creates a climate conducive to student learning and peer relationships.
• Possesses realistic self‑assessment of strengths and weaknesses and seeks assistance appropriately.
• Evaluates learning situations and implements decisions in the best interest of the students.

• Part‑time hourly: $40/hour for MSN, $45/hour for DNP or Ph.D.; or per‑course pay for adjunct class assignments.
• Worker’s compensation.
• Limited part‑time retirement plan.

Location:

Kilgore, TX (must be physically present on campus; remote work not available for full‑time positions; part‑time/adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate must live in Texas).
