Instructional Developer On-Call

DEPT: FULLEREQUIP

HOURS: VARIES

PT/FT/TEMP: ON-CALL

EXEMPT STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

LOCATION: PASADENA, CA (FULL or PARTIAL REMOTE CONSIDERED)

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CONTENT AND LEARNING

Job Overview

The On-Call Instructional Developer will design, develop, and implement engaging and effective educational materials and courses. This role involves collaborating with the FULLER Equip and Centro Latino teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), educators, and other stakeholders to create instructional content that meets the needs of diverse learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, educational technology, theology and biblical studies, digital media production, and adult learning principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with FULLER Equip’s instructional developers and content director to understand the course development process.

  • Collaborate with SMEs to identify learning objectives and develop course content that aligns with organizational goals.

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, assessments, and multimedia resources, to support effective learning and instruction.

  • Record, edit, and produce video content to support online courses and training programs.

  • Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

  • Conduct needs assessments and learner analysis to ensure content is relevant and effective.

  • Implement instructional strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.

  • Utilize Articulate 360 or similar platforms to build and deliver courses.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. A degree in theology or biblical studies is highly desirable.

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in course creation or curriculum design, preferably in a higher education institution

  • Strong understanding of Christian theological principles, their application in instructional design, and an understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design models, and best practices in digital learning.

  • Experience with video recording and editing tools to create professional-quality course content.

  • Knowledge or experience with Articulate 360 to create online-learning experiences.

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Additional Remarks
  • Must be willing to abide by Fuller Community Standards

  • This is a grant-funded position which may be time-limited and/or contingent upon sufficient funding. In the event the grant is discontinued, the position may be eliminated

  • As an on-call role, this position is subject to availability and work is on an as-needed basis

  • This position is available for remote work subject to payroll state tax approval by Fuller Seminary

Pay Scale
  • Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour USD
