The Online Associate (Adjunct) Faculty position is a part-time, temporary adjunct employment opportunity. The Online Associate (Adjunct) Faculty member performs duties relating to online instruction including but not limited to posting faculty guidance and expectations, participating in classroom discussing boards, grading assignments, and promptly responding to student inquiries. This is an online adjunct teaching position, and other duties may be assigned according to experience and qualifications.
The Doctoral Research Chair oversees the doctoral research process and serves as the project manager over the process. The Chair facilitates the dissertation or ADP courses and the relationship between the student, the rest of the committee, and the others involved with administration of the doctoral research project. Reviewing and providing weekly feedback on each assignment/draft submission and all doctoral research milestones, the Chair assists with finalizing the Letter of Intent (LOI) or Project Justification Template (PJT), formulating the proposal, compiling the IRB application, conducting the research or project, and finalizing the manuscript.
The Chair is responsible for participating in dialogue with the student in each weekly discussion forum and ensuring that weekly discussion prompts and exercises are appropriately completed by the student and documented within the classroom. The Chair provides feedback and uploads the required weekly draft submission to the grade book, and completes the week 6 and 9 Waypoint rubrics. The Chair holds the student accountable for meeting milestones associated with each dissertation or ADP course, and grades student efforts accordingly.

- Collaborate within the University community to ensure a positive overall experience for all University students, including the Office of Access and Wellness to holistically support student success in the classroom by implementing university-approved accommodations, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to foster professional growth as it relates to successful teaching for the UAGC student population, and the Student Records department to maintain timely and accurate student records.
- Adhere to all faculty requirements such as facilitating and engaging in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments and discussions, and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- One professional development session is required to be completed per course taught. Examples are synchronous faculty development opportunities, webinars, course development feedback, etc.

Provide instructive feedback that challenges and inspires students while providing specific suggestions to improve the quality of their work and thinking. - High Expectations:
Effectively demonstrate high expectations, while holding students accountable for insightful exchanges and high-quality performance on assignments, and promote active engagement in their own learning. - Demonstrate Instructor Expertise:
Effectively and consistently utilize expertise in subject matter by providing personal experiences and connecting course knowledge to real-world examples. - Enhance course content and resources to encourage student comprehension and application of course learning outcomes.
- Lead students through the dissertation (or ADP) milestones successfully.
- Work in cooperation with committee members and UAGC leadership.
- Submit accurate and timely paperwork supporting the assigned doctoral student(s).
- Guide the student in:
1) setting goals for each course,
2) managing relationships with the Committee Member and Methodological Reader,
3) finalizing the research or project approach,
4) developing a timeline to complete the research,
5) developing the proposal and full research report,
6) conducting research and analyzing data. - Prepare student(s) before the Preliminary and Final Oral Defenses, act as the moderator during each Oral Defense, and follow up with the student after each Oral Defense.
