As an Electrician Instructor (Part Time and Full Time) you will guide our students in their journey toward into the trade. Your primary responsibility is to instruct students in both theory and mostly hands‑on curriculum within a classroom environment. With passion and expertise, you explain and demonstrate the various jobs and tasks to be performed, emphasizing safety at every step and reviewing job safety analysis with each student.
You also excel in organizing and providing supplemental training when necessary, conducting refresher sessions when required, ensuring tools and equipment are in optimal condition for performance and safety. You take on the role of supervisor, assigning tasks and schedules to students, ensuring they follow curriculum guidelines and safety standards diligently. You maintain attendance records and grade entries in accordance with state and accrediting standards.
Additionally, you uphold established rules and conduct expectations within the school.
An Electrician Instructor will prepare and educate students to assume entry level positions in the electrical field. You will be joining a dynamic family‑owned and operated business since 1945. You will get support from management as an instructor. You will get training as an instructor as well as being provided a strong course curriculum.
ResponsibilitiesGuide students in theory and hands‑on curriculum, emphasize safety, review job safety analysis, organize supplemental training, conduct refresher sessions, ensure tools/equipment safe, supervise task assignment/schedule, maintain attendance records, grade entries, uphold rules and conduct expectations.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Electrical Instructor experience is not required but a plus
- Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all manually operated and power‑related tools and equipment, along with proper use of safety equipment/apparel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Classroom
- 7+ years of experience in the trade
- Ability to teach and work with a diverse student population with varying skills and abilities
- Effective communication of complex ideas and concepts to students
- Ability to objectively evaluate and grade student performance against established standards as prescribed by Apex and accrediting entities
- Salary: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
