Clinical Coordinator - Faculty/Instructor-FNP Program

The Clinical Coordinator supports the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program by managing student preparedness for clinical rotations, facilitating preceptor engagement, overseeing compliance and documentation processes, and partnering with faculty to ensure high-quality practicum experiences. This role serves as a key liaison among students, preceptors, clinical coordination staff, and academic leadership, promoting smooth progression through clinical courses and ensuring alignment with accreditation, regulatory, and institutional standards.

• Provide structured support for every practicum course to ensure students meet all requirements for practicum entry.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and Clinical Coordination team to verify preceptor approvals, qualifications, and clinical site eligibility.
• Support student clinical compliance in collaboration with Clinical Operations Specialists and participate in disciplinary or appeal processes as needed.
• Work with Program Coordinator and faculty to address instructional concerns.
• Assist in evaluating clinical site quality, alignment with program outcomes, and learning opportunities.

• Provide high-quality instruction in assigned clinical or didactic courses, ensuring alignment with program curriculum.
• Maintain timely grading, communication, and documentation per faculty expectations.
• Integrate evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and current literature into teaching and student mentoring.

• Oversee orientation, training and ongoing support for practicum faculty
• Communicate policy updates, procedural changes, and clinical requirements to practicum faculty.
• Oversee practicum courses to ensure proper instruction and provide faculty and student support to help meet course objectives and program outcomes.

• Serve as a centralized point of contact for students, preceptors, clinical operations, and academic leadership regarding clinical processes.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with preceptors to promote a supportive learning environment.
• Communicate policy updates, procedural changes, and practicum expectations to faculty, students and preceptors in a timely and clear manner.
• Participate in Nursing Advisory Board meetings, accreditation preparation, and program evaluation initiatives.
• Support leadership in developing, refining, and implementing practicum education policies

• Collaborate with nursing leadership on policy development, planning, and program evaluation in support of state BON, accreditation (CCNE), and institutional initiatives.
• Participate in assessment, planning, and continuous quality improvement efforts for practicum education.

• Adhere to all policies and guidelines established by the institution, school, department, affiliated partners, policies as described in the employee/faculty handbook, and any other directives or memoranda.
• Participate in process improvement and demonstrate adaptability to drive efficiency to improve student outcomes.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD),
• Active board certification (AANP 0r ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

• Must have active unencumbered PA, LA, TN, and GA state APRN License (or willingness to obtain).

• Professional experience is required, and online teaching experience is greatly preferred.
• Minimum three years of full-time clinical experience in a professional setting in the role of a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience in clinical teaching, preceptorship and/or student supervision preferred.
• Experience with clinical documentation platforms (Typhon, Castle Branch, or equivalent) desirable.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote academic setting
