We invite applications for the temporary position of 0.60 FTE Online Learning Teacher:
Math 8-10 & Forensic Science 12. Please note this temporary position will end on June 30, 2026 or upon return of the incumbent.

NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School. Tasks include actively researching, developing, and maintaining advanced online curriculum and supporting blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials.

• Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge, training, and education related to the design and instruction of Math and Forensic Science within an online learning environment at the secondary school level.
• Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system.
• Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators.
• Experience developing and implementing online learning platforms like Brightspace, Zoom and Teams to enhance student learning.
• Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person.
• Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s.
