Virtual Reading Specialist, Prequel (Remote) - $60,000/year USD

Base pay: $30.00/hr ($60,000/year assuming a 40‑hour work week, 52 weeks).

Prequel is a remote‑first online school focused on measurable progress. This role is tailored for professionals who value independence, immediate feedback cycles, and visible results.

• Plan and execute virtual small‑group and individualized reading intervention sessions for grades 3–8
• Analyze reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction promptly
• Adapt activities to accommodate multiple reading proficiency levels, including specialized support for dyslexia and related challenges
• Monitor student progress systematically and apply findings to subsequent session planning
• Facilitate structured motivation touchpoints that cultivate confidence, resilience, and recognition of growth

• Deliver large, whole‑class lessons or present a fixed curriculum
• Execute a pre‑scripted program without tailoring to individual student needs and immediate feedback
• Operate as a passive “software supervisor” lacking substantive instruction and student connection
• Depend on superficial incentives that fail to develop enduring motivation

• Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, or a closely aligned discipline
• Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K‑12 or equivalent state credential)
• Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention or comparative structured literacy methodologies
• Minimum 2 years of experience providing small‑group or individualized reading interventions for grades 3–8
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
• Proficiency in interpreting progress‑monitoring data and applying insights to plan and modify instruction
• Proven capacity to engage and manage students in virtual environments through clear, motivating communication
• Full‑time availability aligned with U.S. business hours (Monday–Friday; 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. PT)

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term independent contractor position. Compensation is $30 USD/hour, paid weekly. The position is immediately available. Applicants should enter into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
