**** The primary role of the Education Partner Liaison is to actively involve the school's students, parents, guardians, families, community, and student support agencies with the goal of enhancing student attendance, retention, and academic progression. This role involves working with all students, with particular emphasis on those who are at a higher risk of falling behind their peers, especially students in foster care or experiencing homelessness.
The Education Partner Liaison's efforts are aimed towards providing necessary support to ensure the success of all students, regardless of their circumstances.
** The Education Partner Liaison is a supplemental position supported by Title 1 funding, a funding derived from federal sources; therefore, the continuation of employment is contingent upon the availability of federal funds.
**** Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
*** Serves as a liaison between assigned schools and such agencies as social services, court services, and the police department regarding student truancy.
* Makes referrals to case management services, including individual counseling and other professional staff members or community agencies, as needed; follows up by monitoring student attendance and progress.
* Collects and reviews attendance data to identify truant students.
* Conducts home visits when students become disengaged or exhibit truancy patterns.
* Tracks and updates address changes for students.
* Tracks and monitors the progress of students in foster care and students experiencing homelessness.
* Tracks and monitors the progress of students who have a probation officer.
* Collaborates with school staff to develop intervention plans for truant students and recommends SEL-focused activities and appropriate actions that align with the intervention plan.
* Assists with implementing truancy prevention programs for assigned schools and recommends strategies to support and improve regular school attendance (i.e., incentives, peer groups, recognitions).
* Works with community resource providers, Post-secondary Counselors, and Career Pathway Coordinators and Aides to assist students with obtaining work experience and exploring post-secondary options.
* Helps coordinate enrollment and recruitment of students from neighborhood schools.
* Support school site events to increase student engagement and connection, as well as foster a positive school environment and culture.
* Carries out additional academic and administrative functions and responsibilities as assigned and applicable. (e.g, tutoring).
