Position: Math Tutor  In-person / Online / Hybrid)

Job Type: Part-time / Full-time / Freelance

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Math Tutor to support students in building strong mathematical foundations and improving academic performance. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, student-centred lessons aligned with the UK curriculum and tailor teaching methods to individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one or small group math tutoring sessions
  • Teach mathematics across levels (Primary, GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent)
  • Explain mathematical concepts clearly and patiently
  • Create customised lesson plans based on student ability and goals
  • Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and coursework
  • Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians
  • Prepare students for assessments, mock exams, and standardized tests
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment
Curriculum Coverage
  • UK National Curriculum
  • GCSE Mathematics
  • A-Level Mathematics / Further Mathematics
  • (Optional) IB, IGCSE, or SAT Math
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, or a related field
  • Prior experience as a Math Tutor or Teacher preferred
  • Strong command of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles
  • Familiarity with online teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet, digital whiteboards) is a plus
Desirable Attributes
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) – preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience working with students aged 6–18
  • DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Passion for education and student success
