We are looking for a vibrant, motivated Teacher Support & Marketing Specialist to join EdShed Phonics & Spelling in Kwa Zulu-Natal. This is a remote, work-from-home role based in Durban, with regular travel to schools. The position combines teacher support and training with marketing and outreach responsibilities to grow EdShed’s presence in the region.

The ideal candidate has previous English teaching experience, understands phonics instruction, enjoys working with teachers, and has an interest or background in marketing. You should be confident delivering in-person and online training, representing the brand professionally, and building strong relationships with schools.

• Teacher Support & Training
  • Provide in-person and virtual onboarding and ongoing support to teachers using EdShed.
  • Deliver teacher training workshops and professional development sessions.
  • Conduct regular school visits to support implementation and build relationships.
  • Offer phonics expertise to help teachers apply best practice literacy instruction.
  • Troubleshoot classroom and platform challenges.
• Customer-Facing Support
  • Act as a key contact person for schools in KZN.
  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with educators and school leadership.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Represent EdShed at school events, expos, and education showcases.
  • Assist with regional marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives.
  • Support social media marketing campaigns, including gathering classroom content, success stories, photos (where permitted), and testimonials.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote EdShed activities and teacher achievements.
  • Identify opportunities to grow EdShed adoption in KZN schools.
  • Work with the sales and marketing team on regional outreach strategies.

  • Provide instructional guidance on integrating EdShed into the curriculum.
  • Write reports after school visits and training sessions.
  • Collect and communicate teacher feedback to the internal team.

  • Support demo sessions for prospective schools when required.

• Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (teaching qualification preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience in English.
  • Strong understanding of phonics instruction.
  • Interest or experience in marketing, outreach, or brand promotion.
  • Teacher training or mentoring experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and running workshops.
  • Proficiency in isiZulu is a strong advantage.
  • Must own a vehicle and be willing to travel regularly within KZN.
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing an independent schedule.
  • Confident with technology and online meeting platforms.
