We are seeking an Archivist to join our customer’s team as a subject matter expert in records management and archival practices. In this remote role, you will leverage your expertise to train and refine AI systems, ensuring accurate understanding of archival principles, historical materials, and digital preservation techniques. Your contributions will shape the future of AI-powered archival research and digital content management.
Key Responsibilities- Train and provide expert feedback to AI models on archival content, ensuring high‑quality outputs.
- Appraise, organize, and direct the preservation of permanent records and historically significant materials for AI training workflows.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data labeling, annotation, and curation requirements for AI systems.
- Conduct research to enhance AI comprehension of archival methodologies and best practices.
- Curate and structure digital archival materials to support ongoing model development and evaluation.
- Document training processes, workflows, and recommendations to continuously improve AI performance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring AI models maintain accuracy, authenticity, and context in archival knowledge.
- Proven experience as an Archivist, Records Manager, or related archival role (e.g., Digital Archivist, University Archivist).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to appraise, organize, and preserve permanent records and historical documents.
- Familiarity with digital archiving standards, metadata schemas, and archival best practices.
- Comfortable working remotely and using digital collaboration platforms.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy in data management and annotation.
- Interest or experience in AI, machine learning, or digital transformation projects.
- Hands‑on experience in AI training, data annotation, or digital content management.
- Advanced degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, History, or a related field.
- Experience conducting research using archival materials or managing research‑based collections.
