About the roleImperial College London is seeking applications for a GPSA Placement Lead. The successful candidate will work with Undergraduate Primary Care Education Unit faculty, General Practitioner tutors and other medical school faculty to organise the day-to-day running of the final year GP placement and plan its future development.
What you would be doingThe post holder will lead the GP placement in year six of the six-year Imperial MBBS programme. The core duties of the post consist of placement planning and management, teaching, assessment, quality improvement, GP tutor training and student support for the year 6 GPSA component of the MBBS course.
What we are looking for- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- Eligibility for appointment as an NHS GP
- Higher degree or other postgraduate qualification in medical education
- Substantial experience of undergraduate clinical teaching in primary care setting
- Experience in managing a teaching programme
- Evidence of critical reasoning, including through presentation or publication of evaluation and/or research relating to medical education
- Strong understanding of the undergraduate medical education curriculum
- Sound understanding of the organisation of general practice and current developments in primary care
- Strong skills, knowledge and achievement in clinical general practice

The post holders will be based in the multi-award-winning Undergraduate Primary Care Education Unit, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, fellows will contribute to MBBS teaching and assessment, gain experience in curriculum design, evaluation, and educational research, and participate in the Unit’s educational communities of practice (eCoPs).
This is a part-time post (10.5 hours per week).
This role is for a fixed-term contract for 24 months with opportunities for potential extension
