Call for workshop leaders - online CPD workshops
Early Years Music Scotland

We are inviting proposals to deliver a one-off professional development workshop for musicians working with children in the early years (age 0-5yrs). With support from Creative Scotland's Youth Music Initiative, Early Years Music Scotland is delivering a programme of free, high-quality, creative and inspiring continuous professional learning and development for musicians working with children in the early years across Scotland.
The aim of this project is to offer musicians working with children in the early years across Scotland a range of professional development opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in creating and delivering quality music‑making experiences for children in the early years (0-5yrs).
Workshops will be delivered online, last 90 minutes, and will be scheduled between April 2026 and March 2027. Dates will be arranged with successful applicants in due course.
Workshop leaders should have a demonstrated expertise in the proposed workshop topic, a proven track record in workshop delivery, and a passion to share their subject. We invite applications from workshop leaders with a variety of backgrounds and specialties, including but not limited to:
- Music education
- Child development
- Additional support needs
- Shared practice amongst different creative art forms
- Development of personal creative skills
- Mental health and wellbeing for creative practitioners
- Research

The Final date to receive applications is 5pm on Tuesday 31st March 2026.
Please note that online workshops will be recorded and shared securely with participants after the session for a mutually agreed period of time.
Successful applicants will be engaged on a freelance basis. Fee: £375 for online delivery of one 90‑minute workshop, including planning and administration.
Please note that applications are welcome from individuals outwith Scotland, however priority will be given to Scottish‑domiciled applicants.
