  • The primary work location is The Hollies, Taunton.
  • Permanent Contract, 22.3 hours per week
    • Term time only hours will be considered
  • 25 Days Annual Leave, not including bank holidays (pro rata)

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their parent/carers here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work in the SENDIAS service will involve:

  • Offering free, impartial, information, advice and support regarding SEN Support provision in schools and educational settings.
  • Support parents/carers to prepare for and attend meetings with schools and educational settings for their children with SEND.
  • Support children and young people to have their voices heard and help them participate in meetings or reviews.
  • Attend parent/carer groups and fun days to promote the work of SENDIAS.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Are educated to a good standard, typically at least NVQ Level 3.
  • Have experience of working with families.
  • Have Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with SEND.
  • Have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the Somerset Graduated Response toolkit.
  • Awareness and/or experience of using the SEND code of Practice 2015.

The salary for this role is Somerset Grade 13, ranging from £15,663 - £16,961 per annum for 22.3 hours per week
