The Processing & Performance section of the Mechanical Engineering department at Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking a passionate and talented Assistant or Associate Professor to expand its research team.

• Develop internationally leading research and publish high‑impact articles.
• Design and drive an independent research program by acquiring public and private funding and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
• Contribute to the development of the Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes and teach lectures/tutorials at both levels.
• Supervise and mentor BSc, MSc, EngD and PhD students during their final projects and internships.
• Initiate, participate in, or lead new internal and external collaborations to advance group success.

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a comparable domain.
• Proven experience in one of the following research themes: safe and sustainable‑by‑design polymer‑based materials, multi‑physics polymer‑based materials, polymer materials at extreme conditions, or elastomers.
• Demonstrable output of high‑quality academic research.
• Motivation to teach and ability to develop excellent teaching skills.
• Strong collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring.
• Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

• Works on a green campus within walking distance of the central train station.
• Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch universities (scale 11 for Assistant, scale 13/14 for Associate).
• Year‑end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.
