About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Oldham. This flexible, part-time role offers GBP
30 per hour minimum, with the potential to increase based on your availability. You will work with students who have high Special Educational Needs (SEN), so a confident, empathetic approach to building relationships and managing challenging behaviours is essential.

Sessions will be delivered during school hours and can take place in school, at the students home, or online. The role requires approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of more hours depending on your availability and the students' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored Maths and English lessons to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students with high SEN needs, helping them to overcome academic challenges and build confidence.
  • Manage challenging behaviours using effective, supportive strategies.
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and school staff.
  • Create and implement personalised lesson plans, adjusting methods as required to support the student's learning style.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English at primary or secondary level.
  • Confidence in supporting students with high SEN needs and managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • You must be cleared to work with children (DBS check required).
  • References from the last two years of employment will be required.
