Derby College Group (DCG) is recruiting a Teacher of Equine (Maternity Cover) to join our Equine team at the Broomfield Hall campus. This maternity cover role will run until July 2027. The role supports delivery of FE and HE programmes, particularly riding and practical stable management, including planning, delivery and assessment.
The OpportunityAs a key member of the Equine team, the successful candidate will plan, resource and deliver high‑quality teaching and assessment for FE and HE riding lessons. Responsibilities include internal quality assurance, target setting, performance monitoring and pastoral support for students. The role also covers trips, visits, open days, recruitment activities and overseeing student work‑experience to meet awarding body standards.
About youKey qualifications and experience: proven equine industry experience, strong commitment to student achievement and quality. Flexibility, self‑motivation and confidence in a fast‑paced environment. Essential skills include rider coaching, horse welfare, groundwork, training and behaviour. Desirable experience in teaching the City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management. Holding BHS Stage 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship and up‑to‑date industry CPD.
