You’ll play a key role in shaping confident, job‑ready EAs who go on to work in inclusive classrooms across Ontario. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference, not just in your students’ lives, but in the lives of every child they’ll go on to support.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Instruction:
Develop comprehensive lesson plans for all subjects
Deliver engaging live online (synchronous) theory instruction for all subjects
Monitor and enforce attendance requirements throughout the program
Student Assessment & Support:
Develop & administer tests, assignments, presentations and practical evaluations
Identify students at risk and implement early intervention strategies
Complete mid‑term progress reports for all students
Provide timely feedback on student progress
Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and performance
Document all evaluations, attendance records, and communications with students
Stay current with changes to Ontario legislation affecting EA training
Deliver instruction using Microsoft Teams and similar online platforms
Communicate effectively via e‑mail, online platforms and phone
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory
Qualifications:
Post‑secondary Education Assistant education (college diploma, Career college certificate, or Certificate of Qualification)
PLUS 48 months (4 years) of EA work within the last 10 years
Reliable high‑speed internet connection required for online instruction and student communication
While this position is remote, applicant must reside in Ontario, Canada
Additional Requirements:
Current EA certification (EA graduates with direct field experience)
Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within the past 6 months)
Eligibility to work in Canada
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive hands‑on experience working as a Education Assistant in multiple education settings
Previous teaching, training or mentoring experience
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructor Certification considered an asset
Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
Knowledge of Learning Platforms considered an asset
Working Conditions
Schedule &
Location:
Part‑time contract position, Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM (may vary based on program schedule)
This is a primarily remote position. Instruction and student support are delivered online, so a reliable high‑speed internet connection is required. Candidates should be located in or near Ottawa and available for occasional on‑campus meetings or appointments at our Ottawa location as needed.
Hourly rate: $28-30/hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Contract position with potential for ongoing work based on program enrollment
Supportive work environment with collaborative team
