Company Description  Codeyoung offers online coding courses for learners aged 5 to 17, focusing on Scratch and other beginner-friendly technologies. Role Description  This is a part-time, remote role for an Online Scratch Mentor working in UK shift timings from 8:30 pm - 1:30 am (5 hours). The mentor will conduct live online Scratch coding sessions, guiding students aged 5 to 17 through structured lessons, projects, and challenges. Day-to-day tasks include explaining core Scratch concepts, demonstrating examples, helping learners debug their projects, and encouraging creativity and experimentation.

The mentor will monitor student progress, provide individualized feedback, and adapt explanations to different learning styles and age groups. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment, communicating regularly with the Codeyoung team, and following the curriculum while suggesting improvements based on class experience.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Scratch programming and basic computer science concepts, with the ability to explain them in simple, age-appropriate terms.
Experience teaching or mentoring children or teens in an online or classroom setting, preferably in STEM or coding.
Excellent verbal communication skills in English, including clear instruction, active listening, and constructive feedback.
Comfort with online teaching tools and platforms (video conferencing, screen sharing, interactive whiteboards, and learning management systems).
Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage small groups, keep learners engaged, and support different learning paces.
Reliable high-speed internet connection, a quiet workspace, and appropriate audio/video equipment for live online classes.
Flexible availability to work UK shift timings, including evenings or weekends as needed.
Bachelor's degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science, Education, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory with equivalent experience.
Demonstrated interest in child-centered, interactive learning methods and a commitment to an inclusive, non-discriminatory learning environment.
