Job Introduction

Assistant Educational Psychologist

Salary Range: £37,265 - £41,616 per annum

Contract: Fixed term initially for 1 year, with possibility of extension dependent on future funding.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for two exceptional, enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Educational Psychologists to support the delivery of the new Experts at Hand programme, introduced by the Department for Education as part of the Government’s SEND Reforms.

Responsibilities

Assist and provide psychological services to children, staff and families within schools.

Conduct training, intervene therapeutically, consult and develop evidence‑based approaches in areas such as cognition, emotional wellbeing, child development, attachment, trauma and teaching methodology.

Support interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with local and national training courses.

Qualifications

Psychology degree with evidence of applying psychology in an educational setting, such as teaching or delivering SEND support.

Experience working under pressure in a multi‑disciplinary team.

Exceptional engagement skills with children and families.

Additional Requirements

Fluency Duty: required. DBS Enhanced Adults & Children check required. A pre‑employment medical check will be carried out for all shortlisted candidates.
