About the Role

We are looking for a committed Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Stockport. This part‑time role offers GBP
30 per hour minimum, with the possibility of a higher rate based on your availability. You will be working with students who have high Special Educational Needs (SEN), so a confident and compassionate approach to building relationships and managing challenging behaviours is key. Sessions will take place during school hours and can be delivered in school, at the students home, or online, depending on your preferences and the needs of the students.

The role is approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours depending on availability and student demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and personalised Maths and English lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Support students with high SEN needs, building their confidence and helping them to overcome learning barriers.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with a positive, proactive approach.
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and relevant staff members.
  • Develop and implement individual lesson plans that suit each students learning style.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English at primary or secondary level.
  • Confidence in supporting students with high SEN needs and managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • You must be cleared to work with children (DBS check required).
  • References from the last two years of employment will be required.
Additional Information

The role is part-time, with sessions taking place during school hours (Monday to Friday). Sessions can be delivered in school, at the students home, or online, based on availability and student preferences.
