We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Officer (Behavioural Science) to support the development and delivery of Birmingham's city wide Making Every Contact Count (MECC) offer across the local system. This role will play a key part in strengthening prevention by supporting partners to use everyday conversations to encourage positive behaviour change, applying behavioural science in a practical and accessible way.
The postholder will work with a high degree of autonomy, while operating within an agreed programme of work and under appropriate supervision, to lead on the development, delivery and ongoing refinement of the MECC programme. Taking a co‑production approach, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the system to develop and maintain a clear implementation plan, create engaging training, resources and support materials, and deliver MECC training sessions to a wide range of partners.
The role will involve proactively building and sustaining strong relationships, providing ongoing advice and support, and supporting the evaluation of the MECC programme, using learning and feedback to continuously improve and embed high‑quality, sustainable MECC delivery at scale across Birmingham.
This role would be particularly suited to someone with experience of developing and delivering training, evaluating training effectiveness, and contributing to the evaluation of system‑wide behaviour change and practice.
Sponsorship is not available for this post. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK that does not require employer sponsorship for the duration of the appointment.
Proof of right to work in the UK will be required for all applicants in accordance with UK Home Office requirements before any employment offer can be confirmed.
