This is a remote position.
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate AP Calculus Online Instructor to teach students from foundational math levels up to AP Calculus AB and BC. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in calculus, strong problem-solving ability, and the talent to simplify complex mathematical concepts for learners at different levels.
You will be responsible for delivering structured online classes, preparing students for AP exams, and creating an engaging virtual learning experience.
Teaching Responsibilities
Teach students from pre-calculus fundamentals to Advanced Calculus (AP AB/BC) .
Cover all AP topics:
Limits & Continuity
Derivatives & Applications
Integrals & Applications
Differential Equations
Series (BC)
Parametric, Polar & Vector Functions
Prepare students for AP Calculus AB/BC Exam Patterns , including FRQs and MCQs.
Provide step-by-step solutions and teach exam-oriented problem-solving techniques.
Assign practice worksheets, quizzes, mock tests, and review sessions.
Classroom Engagement
Conduct interactive online classes using digital whiteboards and graphical tools.
Simplify complex concepts using visualizations, real-life examples, and technology.
Track student progress and offer personalized feedback.
Maintain discipline and ensure structured, time-bound lessons.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
Mathematics
Applied Mathematics
Engineering
Physics
Other math-intensive fields
B.Ed. will be an added advantage.
AP-teaching certification or prior AP prep experience is a major plus .
Core Skills
Strong conceptual clarity in Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II & AP Calculus .
Excellent communication and ability to simplify hard topics.
Ability to solve and explain high-difficulty calculus questions.
Comfort teaching both slow-paced beginners and advanced fast learners .
Teaching Skills
Ability to build concepts from scratch (functions, trigonometry, limits, slopes).
Experience preparing students for competitive math exams (SAT, ACT, AP).
Strong classroom management and student engagement techniques.
Analytical & Technical Skills
Strong stepwise problem explanation.
Use of annotations, digital whiteboards, and screen sharing to teach effectively.
Technical Requirements
Stable high-speed internet connection with a quiet, professional home setup.
High-quality microphone/headset and webcam for crystal-clear teaching.
Familiarity with Zoom and other online platforms.
Ability to use:
Virtual whiteboards
Graphing tools (Desmos, Geo Gebra)
Shared digital notations
PDF annotations & digital textbooks
Ability to integrate slides, visual aids, and real-time problem solving.
Preferred Qualities
Prior experience teaching AP Calculus AB/BC.
Ability to conduct mock exams , timed tests, and exam strategies workshops.
High patience and ability to explain the same concept in multiple ways.
Strong professionalism, punctuality, and commitment to schedules.
Student-friendly, positive, motivating teaching style.
