Position SummaryThis introductory course explores the creative use of technology by artists, designers, makers, and industry professionals, and the artistic potential of technology innovation. The course surveys topics such as maker culture, visual communication design, audio and sound design, AR/VR, video games, creative coding, 3D printing, digital art, DIY electronics, critical improvisation, digital storytelling, and the significance of interdisciplinarity within Creative Technologies.
Responsibilities- Deliver online asynchronous instruction for the course during the Fall semester (September-December).
- Facilitate curriculum and pedagogy in a remote modality, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Utilize Moodle (or other online learning environments) and Zoom to support course delivery.
- Prepare and update course materials, including syllabus, assignments, and learning resources.
- Provide timely feedback and assessment to students.
- Maintain communication with students, faculty, and administration.
- MFA, MA, or PhD with a focus in Creative Technologies or an equivalent field.
- Evidence of experience teaching creative technologies, including hardware and software relevant to the class, since 2023.
- Experience managing classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina.
- Experience teaching at the university level.
- Proficiency with Moodle and Zoom, and other online learning platforms.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada, with work performed within Canada.
