As a High School Teacher at RCOA, you will be a mentor and academic guide for students during a pivotal stage of their educational journey. This role combines specialized subject expertise with a passion for fostering a creative, group learning environment within our unique online and hybrid models. You will lead students in exploring character and purpose while delivering high-quality, personalized education that aligns with our Christ-centered mission.
Key Responsibilities- Lead specialized courses such as Science and ADST, Gr. 8 & 9.
- Provide academic oversight and mentorship to teens, fostering an environment that inspires lifelong learning and spiritual growth.
- Partner effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to support home-learning families.
- Utilize online learning management systems to deliver content and track student progress in a dynamic digital environment.
- Attend mandatory onsite training sessions three times per year in the Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island.
- Mission Ambassador: A deep desire to be an ambassador for Christ, modeling faith in all interactions with the school community.
- Relational Excellence:
Passionate about mentoring teens and building strong partnerships with parents and staff. - Organizational Mastery:
Strong organizational and communication skills to manage the unique demands of hybrid and online instruction. - Digital Fluency:
Comfortable navigating online learning dynamics and educational technology platforms. - Adaptability: A "move fast" mindset that thrives in a growing and dynamic school community.

- Pay: CA $49,721 - 83,390 annually at the determined FTE
- Benefits:
Extended Health & Dental, Pension plan available upon eligibility.

- Certification:
Must be a teacher certified by the B.C. Teacher Regulation Branch (BCTRB), the Office of the Inspector of Independent Schools (OIIS), or possess a valid Letter of Permission (LOP). - Experience:
Experience and education related to working with students in online learning, competency-based assessment, and project-based learning is an asset. - Travel:
Participate in Professional Development 3-4 times per year. Dates for the school year are:- New Teacher Training (Virtual) – August 28
