Job Overview

Online Grade K-7 Educator for the Home Learners Network (HLN). You will create, design, and facilitate live-streamed online learning activities for children and teens, and manage the HLN platform.

• Create, design, and facilitate engaging live online activities for K-7 learners.
• Manage live online activities in the HLN platform.
• Create photo assets and short video clips of activity products.
• Collaborate with HLN team to develop topics and activities using Universal Design for Learning principles.
• Plan and offer single-session activities, series, and camps, negotiated based on availability.

• B.C. Teaching Certificate (other provincial certificates considered).
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably online.
• Experience working with online learners.
• Ability to plan and create engaging online lessons, workshops, or courses.
• Experience designing curriculum for in-person or online settings.

• Learning solutions development.
• Online instructional delivery and engagement.
• Digital literacy.
• English language proficiency.
• Planning and organizing.
• Collaboration with others.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Self-starter and learner-centered focus.

• Primary education, K-2 curricular, foundational numeracy and literacy.
• Social Studies (history, geography, current events).
• Languages – French or other languages, conversational, immersive, or culturally based approaches.
• Applied design, skills & technology, graphic design, digital creativity.
• Career exploration, real-world skills, entrepreneurship, business, and marketing.
• STEAM – math, numeracy, financial literacy, engineering, design thinking, coding, programming, game design, robotics, animation, digital creation.

Flexible contract; start date as soon as possible, renewable. Working hours 9:00 am–7:00 pm Pacific. Meetings within 8:00 am–6:00 pm Pacific. Must be available for occasional online meetings.
