About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a permanent Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to strengthen our growing LLB and LLM programmes. Applicants should be able to teach at least two of the following modules:
- Commercial law
- Financial Crime
- Competition Law
- And one of the following foundation modules:
Criminal Law, Public Law, Law of Torts, Contract law
- Teach, assess and support students on the Academic Law modules.
- Undertake module leadership where expected.
- Supervise dissertations and research projects.
- Provide personal tutoring and support to students.
- Participate in off‑campus student outreach and recruitment activities, including open days, when required.
- Collaborate with the School’s leadership team to advance learning and teaching initiatives and help sustain an innovative, forward‑looking curriculum.
This role also offers opportunities for leadership responsibilities, such as serving as a Programme Leader.
About YouWe are looking for an innovative, inclusive and collaborative individual with experience teaching in higher education. You should possess strong communication skills, excellent organisational and time‑management abilities, and the capacity to prioritise across multiple deadlines. You will be skilled at explaining complex information clearly, connecting learning to real‑world professional or commercial contexts, and building positive, productive working relationships.
Commitment to continually enhancing teaching practice, including effective use of technology to support engaging, high‑quality learning, is essential. A student‑centred approach and a commitment to high ethical standards are also required. Adaptability, resilience and confidence in navigating demanding or changing situations with professionalism and sound judgement are key qualities for this role.
LocationThe role is based at our lively Frenchay campus, which offers state‑of‑the‑art facilities and resources for staff and students alike. Some remote work from home is possible on certain days.
