Location: St. Catharines

Introduction to Disability Studies

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2025 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2025 - $15, per full course (390 hours nominally)

Please note:

Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position have changed since it was last posted.

1. Completed PhD in Disability Studies, Psychology or related field considered an asset.

2. Demonstrated academic teaching and work experience in disabilities.

3. Experience in Applied Research with persons with disabilities.

4. Proven on-line teaching experience – synchronous and asynchronous.

5. Available to teach online during the day and /or evenings on weekdays and/or weekends as required.

6. Experience using Brightspace or other learning management systems.

7. Able to attend department related meetings via video conference as required.
