Are you a passionate and experienced educator with expertise in primary SEND provision looking to inspire the next generation of teachers and educators?
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Primary and Education Studies team at the University of Brighton. In this fixed‑term, full‑time role based at our Falmer campus, you will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high‑quality teaching and an excellent student experience.
Our ITE Primary and Education Studies provision is highly regarded, with strong student outcomes and a clear commitment to inclusive, practice‑informed learning. You will play a key role in shaping the learning of trainee teachers and education students across both subject‑specific and wider education provision.
Your Role Will Include- Delivering engaging lectures, seminars and workshops across ITE Primary and Education Studies provision with a focus on primary SEND provision.
- Contributing to assessment and academic support.
- Supporting students in school‑based training and professional learning.
- Contributing to curriculum development and course review.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner schools.
Where possible, we align responsibilities with your strengths and interests.
The role includes teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate and work‑related programmes delivered year‑round, including some evening and Saturday activity.
We’re Looking For a Colleague Who Has- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Significant primary experience, with particular expertise in SEND provision.
- Experience of supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE Primary (SEND) and Education Studies provision (or extensive relevant experience).
