A United Kingdom (B6) Theatre Practice Educator position is available. The role is full time and based at the Royal site, with rotation to BGH Theatres to cover their educational requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the provision of high quality, multidisciplinary learning environments within the Theatre Department.
- Support inter‑professional learning opportunities across services and coordinate learning activities for the department.
- Develop and supervise mentors and practice supervisors, build competency in education in practice, and provide best‑practice advice to staff and mentors.
- Maintain up‑to‑date action plans for placement providers, facilitate student statutory and mandatory training, and undertake projects to inform future learning and development priorities.
- Contribute to staff and mentor professional development; participate in appraisal and clinical supervision processes.
- First‑level degree or higher.
- Professional qualification at degree level with up-to-date professional registration.
- Willingness to undertake Masters‑level study related to education in practice.
- European Computer Driving Licence and a broad range of clinical experience.
- Experience teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare students in practice settings.
- Experience working across professional and organisational boundaries and facilitating change.
- Staff management or supervision experience.
- Experience developing and implementing new systems and procedures, knowledge of teaching and learning methods, curriculum development, and regulatory requirements.
- In‑depth knowledge of quality assurance principles and frameworks.
- Working knowledge of inter‑professional learning theory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Knowledge and experience of the private, voluntary and independent sector and appropriate UK professional registration.
