The University and College Union (UCU) represents over 120,000 academics, lecturers, trainers, instructors, researchers, managers, administrators, computer staff, librarians and postgraduates in universities, colleges, prisons, adult education and training organisations across the UK. Aboutthe role
- Supporting the development and implementation of recruitment and organising strategies
- Building and maintaining networks of activists
- Keeping the Branch membership list and website up to date
- Taking minutes
- Organising events and meetings for UCU members
- Organising and supporting local campaigns
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience (including Maths and English)
- Experience of a similar working environment and/or understanding of working for a trade union or other not-for-profit organisation
- Sound organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; first point of contact for members; support branch officers in all aspects of work for UCU

working arrangements – UCU requires employees to work from their office or in the field for at least 60% of the working week and may apply to work from home for the remaining 40% but UCU cannot guarantee that this will be agreed.
